More about roller derby...

So are you excited by the idea of roller derby, but gutted you can't play because you're a bloke? Want to PLAY rather than ref?

Never fear!

Ballistic Whistle, one of LRG's beloved referees is setting up a mens' league in London.

Ability to skate not required, you can learn!

(Roller Derby is played on Quads, not inlines, due to the nature of the sport. If you're an inline skater, you'd need to sort out some quads to play)

Dancefloor Dilemma

With reference to my 30th Birthday Party...

So there are 2 floors at the Blue Anchor.

The owner has suggested we set the DJs up upstairs, he reckons you can fit hundreds of people up there. I have my doubts, It looks like to me you could fit hundreds of people standing around smoking there, but not lots of people dancing. But then, he is the owner, and knows his venue. The downstairs area is a bigger space, more space for dancing probably, but if it's nice weather, we risk a split party, with people upstairs and outside and people dancing downstairs, or if no one is dancing, the DJs stuck downstairs alone...

So there are pros and cons for both. There are bars both up and down, the biggest bar is downstairs, the upstairs bar is much smaller.

What say you?
