And I highly recommend SideStep as a starting place when looking for airfare. The local airport codes are LAX (for LA International), LGB (for Long Beach), and ONT (for Ontario). The last two are easier to drive to, but LAX may have the most flights and better-priced fares.
I should have also added (though I figure you would do, but just to mention it for my sanity's sake) that if you do start finding feasible dates/flights, please send them my way first so we can chat about them before you book for sure. I think my schedule will be alright no matter what, but there's a (rather large, sadly) chunk of the day when driving back and forth to LAX is pretty much impossible, so we may need to play around with times to make sure I don't wind up leaving you stranded at the airport for hours while I'm in crazy grid-lock traffic (or that you can't make your flight home due to some massive pile-up). I know it's a relatively minor thing, but events out here really do wind up being planned by what time one is going to hit the freeway. ;p
