I forgot to mention the other deaf girl - she was sent home because she couldn't do an advert for ice cream. She was asked to do it speaking, and wasn't allowed to sign at all. This broke her, she didn't know how to be expressive without her hands.

The others managed fine, but would they have sent the girl in a chair home because the advert required her to run up stairs?

It seemed horribly unfair, somehow.
