I've just spent the last 5 minutes skating round the office. I'm a bit wobbly, but that's not bad considering i haven't have been on roller skates for YEARS. I'm already better at it than ice skating...

I think the only person NOT weirded out by my skating around the office was the director (the juggling one) who just said 'very retro. why aren't they inlines?'

It occurs to me that I need a roller skating icon.

i WISH. the director's PA is awful, and the only thing that makes working here Not Nice.

She's just been signed off for 2 weeks, on the rumour mill i hear for stress and depression. I'm kind of hoping she leaves, she's not a very nice person really. I feel sorry for her that she's having a hard time, but she is one of those people who makes themselves very hard to like, and i've really tried.

Yay rollerskates! Very Rollergirl. Where did you get them from? I don't like inlines, but loved rollerskating when I was little - think I might want some.

I looked all over the place for the right ones, i ended up getting these from DemonXtreme as they do a deal with better bearings if you order at the same time. There's LOADS on ebay, and if you aren't vegan and are ok with leather skates you have even more choice. I also looked at http://www.skateattack.co.uk/, which is reccd. by the london roller girls, and a few other places that i found on google.

The best skates are all in the US or Canada, unfortunately.
http://sincityskates.com is a good site, lots of info. and this site - http://www.rollergirl.ca/ has some really pretty ones. They'll both ship o/seas though, if you don't mind paying the extra for shipping :)

Ooooooohhhhhhhhh so lovely. Makes me wish I'd bought white ice skates and just put pink laces in! It is really hard to take a pic of your feet eh? I tried with my ice skates and gave up! When are we going to the Kings X roller disco? I need to try it!!
