emmelinemay: (Bike)
I have a day of annual leave i had to take this week, so I've taken Friday off.

I may go and do a bunch of classes up at the sobell centre, probably pilates, 20/20/20 and some yoga. (because the other option is spinning and body conditioning and i HATE spinning. What is the point in cycling hard for 45 minutes if you don't end up anywhere exciting or play chicken on the way?)

Anyone fancy it? Or doing anything else in the afternoon?

(cross posted, apologies to people who see this 3 times!)

Oh - and we are ICE SKATING tonight at the Sobell Centre, it's less than £4 including skate hire, session starts at 6.45. Come and fall over with me!

I said I'd post this info today, for those of you interested in coming to the show I've been working on since September.

It's based on The Tempest (the Shakespeare one!) but has been partially devised by the children and youth theatre, and is entirely suitable for any age. There are songs which have also been partially written by the children.

about Haringey Shed )

I've worked REALLY hard on this show, along with my group of mixed-ability children, who play Miranda and her brothers and sisters on the island. I'm proud of what they've achieved, they know their lines better than I do (tonight I must learn them...)

The flyer is here.

Tickets are £5, all proceeds go right back into Haringey Shed.. The show is about an hour and ten minutes long, one performance at 4pm, one at 7pm, this coming Saturday, March 31st, at Northumberland Park. I'll be on stage with my group, making sure they remember their lines, look enthusiastic and don't wander off...

Our shows are usually amazing experiences, not just because they tend to be surprisingly good (considering the shambles that the final rehearsals always are) but they are such a wonderful example of what young people are capable of. One thing that always shows through is the spirit of inclusion - all abilities working together to support each other and create a unique piece of theatre.

For tickets call the Box Office on 020 8275 4835.
