I had a beautiful moment of musical synchronicity this morning.

You know when the music you are listening to seems to match what you're doing? Maybe you are waiting to meet someone, and all the strangers around you seem to be moving in time to the song; maybe the rain starts to fall just as a particularly sad song starts to play. Maybe the sort of moment when you feel as if you're in the film or music video of your own life. Maybe you have no idea what I'm talking about!

I love moments of musical synchronicity. This morning, as I was nearly at work, the Delays' 'Valentine' (a beautiful song, although I'm not sure many of you know the Delays) was reaching its musical climax, a beautiful harmony of guitars and synths and emotional vocals, the refrain "tell me the truth it makes you feel better" swirling round as the music makes you feel like you've got the wind in your hair and the world all around you, just for you. This moment arrived exactly as I turned onto York Way, the big hill leading down to work, and I sped down the hill in time to music surely made for speeding down hills, jumping out of planes, leaping before you look and feeling the wind in your hair and the world being all around you and yet fading away until there's only you and the music and the feeling of being alive.

Musical Synchronicity. It makes me happy :)

Do you ever feel the musical synchronicity?
