Anyone who liked Snakes On A Plane should probably check out Deep Blue Sea - which also features Mr L Jackson - with a totally ludicrous plot about genitically engineered super-intelligent sharks deliberately sinking the research facility that made them super intelliigent so they can get revenge on the scientists, Jaws 4 style-ee.

It's terrible. I love it.

Looking forward to seeing Snakes On A Plane as i haven't yet. I have high hopes for it. I've been reading the 'history' of it on Wikipedia, and it's really quite interesting...

Due to its considerable Internet fan base, New Line Cinema incorporated feedback from online users into its production. The film wrapped up principal photography in September 2005, but after anticipation of the upcoming film grew to unexpected levels, the studio later ordered five days of additional re-shooting to raise the MPAA rating from a PG-13 to an R

Dalessandro's third draft of "Venom"[the original title!]was turned down by all 30 Hollywood studios in 1995

At one point, the film's working title was altered to Pacific Air Flight 121. In August 2005, Jackson told an interviewer, "We're totally changing that back. That's the only reason I took the job: I read the title."

On June 3, 2006 while presenting the award for best movie at the 2006 MTV Movie Awards, Jackson declared that Snakes on a Plane would win the award the following year, stating:
"No movie shall triumph over Snakes on a Plane. Unless I happen to feel like making a movie called Mo' Muthafuckin' Snakes on Mo' Muthafuckin' Planes."

In a move taking advantage of the attention for the film, a rip-off horror B-movie, Snakes on a Train, was released straight to DVD on August 15, 2006, only three days prior to Snakes on a Plane's theatrical release.

If you have seen Deep Blue Sea, you will notice that all sharks are killed in similar, if not same way to the sharks in the Jaws movies, i.e - blown up with oxygen/gas tank, electrocuted, blown up by massive bomb.

Speaking of massive bomb, imo that film was one. I am also yet to see Snakes on a Plane. I have been holding off cause I thought maybe it was a date movie as things are bound to jump out and make me shriek and I will probably need a cuddle.

Maybe I should just take a stuffed animal.

The best bit of Deep Blue Sea is when SLJ himself gets cut off in mid-sentence by the shark.

That is one of the best moments of ANY film!!

After that whole Samuel L Jackson style rousing speech!! And you assume he'll be ok, because he's the star :) I read that one of his conditions for being in the film in the first place was that he gets eaten by a shark :)
