I've always been rather curious about the dragons/dinosaurs thing - logic says there's likely to be some sort of link between one big scaly lizard and another. I've always wondered if dragons came about partly because ancient people discovered dinosaur bones, theorised what a live one of these creatures would look like, and assumed that if there were bones around, maybe there were living versions of the creatures around in parts of the world as yet unexplored - hence 'Here Be Dragons'.
