I'm sure many of you have seen this a million times already, but this is important. Please take the time to read this, if you haven't seen it already, and pass it on to those who aren't on my friends list.

My friend Mildred’s partner, Diz, has been illegally detained in Dubai and is being held without charge.

His crime? Having pills for jet lag, which are available over the counter legally in Dubai. This has been proved, and yet they are still keeping him there. While he’s been there, he’s met many other 'prisoners', some of whom have been there for over 10 months, one of whom just passed his 17th birthday. They are all being held with no formal charges, and the ‘rules’ are changed every day.

Some of them have little or no family or friends support back home, and no way of getting out, as their stories are suppressed.

Mildred has taken it upon herself not just to try and free Diz, but to try and bring these stories to national attention, and to get the message out that Dubai is NOT a safe tourist destination, and also to free the other people who are stuck in a Dubai prison with no charges, and no crime committed.

Pleas take the time to read the following links:

How you can help:

1 - Diz is BORED. If you have any funny stories or want to write him a letter, or want to write to anyone else stuck there, information on how to do so is in that first link.

2 – We want to get out to people that DUBAI IS NOT SAFE FOR TOURISTS. So if you have any first hand experiences, or know anyone that has, of Dubai and the way it treats visitors, please get in touch. Information on how to do so is in the second link.

3 – Sign the petition (fourth link)

4 – Spread the word. Please let other people know about Diz’s situation, and those of the people he is being held with. Take this, copy it, paste it, and spread the word.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and the links, and maybe evenb signing the petition.

Please help bring Diz home to his friends, family and loved ones, and hopefully help many others too, and perhaps even prevent this happening again.
