I received a £10 book token from my grandparents for Xmas.
Rather than playing it safe and buying something I used to own and have already read but have lost, perhaps I should read something new.
Can you recommend me anything please?
Along with the usual suspect (Mr Pratchett) I've been known to enjoy:
Susanna Clarke
Garth Nix
Phillip Pullman
Neil Gaiman
Jane Austen
Wilkie Collins
Chuck Palahniuk (I've only read Choke, Lullaby, Invisible Monsters and Diary though)
A series of Unfortunate Events
Jasper Fforde
I read quite fast, I average about 2 hours for a Discworld, and so would rather have a HYOOGE book that will take me time to read, rather than something quick, e.g. Suzanna Clarke's Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, or Gaiman's American Gods which have been two favourites which took me more than a week to read :)
I only tend to read non-fiction if I'm excessively interested in the subject matter, and biographies only if I am super interested in the person.
Any recommendations are welcome - All my books have been read EXACTLY 3289502390 times each.
