My contender for worst cover version of all time is Belle and Sebastian's disgusting shiny disco version of a really lovely song, Young Marble Giants' Final Day:
The original, since it's not a terribly famous song
..And the horrendous cover.
It's a shame, 'cause I quite like some Belle and Sebastian..
