I am officially OBSESSED with this coming Saturday's Doctor Who.
I've trawled the internet for clues, searched forums, scrutinised on-set pictures to try to work out what's coming.
I've found out that the press got copies of last weeks without a complete ending, so they had nothing to go on, and there've been NO press copies released for the finale.
So NO ONE knows. It's all speculation.
Of course, if I found out, I'd be like OH KNOW I DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW. But I am officially sad and geeky, and really REALLY want to know!!!
As usual, expect posts about this to contain spoilers, crazy theories and wild speculation in the comments.
- That the regeneration doesn't work properly, because of the hand
- That there ends up being 2 DTs, and one goes to live with Rose (oh god I hope not, that would be so horrible and cheesy and wrong)
- That there end up being 2 DTs, one good, one evil (the Valeyard)
- That Donna is the white guardian/the rani/Romana/The master
- That HJ,FPM is in league with the Daleks
- That it's all a parallel universe and everything is 'reset' at the end with only the Dr remembering anything
- That the Tardis 'dies' and Donna somehow sacrifices herself to save it
- The Osterhagen key 'unlocks' the time war
- That the Dr really is dead and regenerating, and is only in the set pics from the Xmas specials to fool people, or as a flashback, and that DT has been lying about being in the specials next year to throw people off the scent
My favourite speculations are about Donna being a 'temp' - literally part time - or the connection where a 'Noble' is a 'lord'...
Of course, it could all be rubbish, and there will be a MASSIVE let down, a bit like that whole Dobby the Time Elf last series.
In Martha's second episode, the Shakespeare one, they meet Queen Elizabeth 1 at the end, and she recognises the Doctor on sight and goes absolutely mental. Martha asks what it's all about as they leg it, and the Doctor says he doesn't know, it hasn't happened yet. Well, it still hasn't.
So if he *does* regenerate, and is someone else, there's either a plot hole there or they will have to fob us off with a 'adventure in between the episodes' thing. Which, to be fair, they've done before.
So maybe that doesn't prove anything. Hmm.
Of course, that irritating River Song woman recognises him too, and says she's 'never seen him so young' - but if she knows him *that* well, chances are she's no him with a different face?
I've confused myself now.
