A meeting was postponed from today until Monday, which has - without going into too many details on a public post - made me feel very much as if I'm a condemed soul who has eaten their last meal and then been told they have a 2 day stay of execution, and so will a - not die yet and b - get a second last meal.

This led a friend to ask, would would be your last meal?

I think perhaps I woul have done for something I knew would have made me ill and so normally would have avoided, knowing I wouldn't have to face the after
effects. Something like, a giant steak burger with bacon covered in melted cheese with yorkshire puddings and fried eggs. With an easter egg for desert.

Of course, had I eaten that and then had a 2 day stay of execution I would have had a very miserable 2 days, and probably not wanted a second last meal very much.

So I am curious - assuming you're *not* getting a stay of execution, would would be your last meal?

Human flesh - cooked.

I'm unlikely to try it at any other time, and by that point I would have nothing to lose!

You could, of course, go to Hell for doing that...

So EVERYTHING to lose

Oh god, steak. Possibly with bacon. As long as they execute me within 2 hours of eating it, I wouldn't have a chance to get sick.

If there's going to be more than two hours delay, then I'd have to think of something veggie, or I might be too sick to be executed.

I wonder if there are many vegetarians who would go STEAK AND BACON?

I think it's really funny it was my first thought as well!

Funny enough, my first thought was HOORAY YES SOMETHING WITH NO MEAT IN IT WHATSOEVER!

I am annoyed with my body for insisting on not working properly unless I give it mostly food which I find revolting.

It's partly because I had to give them up when I didn't want to, and sometimes I just want steak.

But I do know some veggies who are ethical rather than medical, but still miss it and may just take it as the last meal. The only real question is, do I have the steak in pepper sauce or not?

I'd work on the same logic as you - who cares what my insulin level is if I'm going to die tomorrow? - so it would be something lovely and completely carboriffic involving pasta so much pasta oh god pasta I love pasta. Also probably some chips. I love those too. Salty fat soft chips. And gyoza from Wagamama. Oh god ginger chicken udon. DAMN YOU I AM SO HUNGRY NOW. THERE'S NOT EVEN A WAGAMAMA IN IRELAND.
*goes off to find something low-carb*

and a side order of chips, cooked by heston.

i really can't think of anything i'd prefer right now. hmmm.

First Course:
Mozzarella sticks with BBQ Sauce

Second Course:
Shrimp Cocktail or something lobster (allergic)
Or...my dad's baked clams

Third Course:
Either Joe's Pizza from NY or a calzone made by my Dad
Some mushroom dish as I am allergic

Dessert:
Ice cream...real ice cream
Strawberries (allergic)

To be honest, I most likely get to the third or dessert courses as the shellfish will kill me within minutes unless I have my epi pen

One of my all-time favourite meals that I had on my 19th birthday and still remember fondly consisted of a perfectly grilled Fillet Mignon stuffed with a crabmeat stuffing, and I think it was a Bernaise sauce..maybe I'd have a grilled asparagus and gruyer souffle with it..definitely I'd add in a cheese platter and maybe some Bailey's ice cream :)

Either that or I'd have some proper Mexican!

I'd only be interested if I could cook some of it myself, because that's better than eating in my opinion.

I would start with a fish soup, full of shellfish and chunky bits of salmon before cooking myself a beautiful collection of rare fillet steaks and a number of different sauces to enjoy with them. Undoubtedly, one of these would be a blue cheese one. I'd just have some nice chunky chips and a spicy little leaf salad on the side. I might need some mayonnaise too. And some pickles.

Then I'd have a rhubarb crumble (a Rhumble!) with both custard and ice cream.

Then I'd want a few crackers and bits of cheese to nibble on.

xx

Lots and lots of gunpowder and a massive cake made out of semtex and ballbearings, for when they strap me into the electric chair.

Famous last words - "You lot... you're all coming with me!"

And in a further "me too", I have a really horrible meeting coming up on Monday too, in which I am also likely to be metaphorically executed.

I think my last meal would have involve a hyoooooge ball of Mozarella cheese. :-)
