Is the movie as good as Madonna's song ?

I disagree in my opinion best bond movie in the last 10 years. Lots of toys and gadgets and an orbital lasery thing.

plot - terrible
acting - diabolical
sound effects - overdone and ridiculous (do cables really beep and fiz when you unplug them? no)
special effects - ropey
science - dodgy to say the list DNA reassignment? please. and no, you can't replace scars with DNA changes - they are acquired characteristics and not genetic.
plot twist - seen a mile away
chorography on fight scenes - worst i've seen in a long time

good bits -
20 seconds of john cleese
madonna in tight back lacing rubber outfit
Xao (although after 14 months his skin would have rejected the diamonds and he would have been left with scars)

liscence to kill was pretty good.

License to kill was one of the *worst*. Did for Timothy Dalton IMHO who was an otherwise top Bond. Now, Living Daylights was good, but the ending was week. There again, after Roger Moore most stuff's quite good...

i'm not a big fan of james bond. i feel like i ought to be. but there's something that just doesn't click about them.

maybe it's becasue bruce willis isn't in them.

and re dy another day - Peirce Brosnan is just farr too flabby to be a hero. and slimy. and the chat up lines were CRINGY. at least when Sean Conery does it, you can sort of see why all these women would shag him. but pierce brosnan? EUW.

now bruce willis. in the die hard days.

are you going to come to paintball with us in the new year BTW? [livejournal.com profile] pogtanius is organising it.

See, Bruce Willis, Sean Connery, it's your bald fetish again isn't it? :p Anyhow, Die Hard was meant to be a Schwarzenneger film (as he'd just done so well with Commmando) but it didn't turn out that way. Almost good in a way. Besides, that had Alan Rickman in it, and he's top.

As for paintball, well, I guess I could lower myself to play with your unrealistic looking guns and forgoe the usual full-auto setting. :p When and where?

i only like bald men with BIG arms. i think sean connery gets the edge because of the accent - he's still a bit on the lanky side. now, Vin Diesel. rowr.

i can't remember when paintball is - january/febuary sort of thing. i'll get Pog to get his arse in gear and start organising it.

it'll most likely be down at campaign paintball, as it was really good last time. and we WON.

Okay, I'll agree with Vin Diesel. Not that I fancy him, but... Anyway, what's the fixtation with paintball. You could always try Airsoft ;)

alex [livejournal.com profile] meryc mentioned that when we were on our way to paintball last time - he said i should have a go. after paintball he was adamant that i should have a go (bit excitable when i have a gun in hand i discovered.)

so yes. we should do that.
