prompted by a conversation last night at t'pub. The world seems to be split into those of a particular age who remember this from school disos, and those that don't....

1,2,1,2,3, go
clap your hands
sleep
wave your hands
hitch a ride
sneeze
go for a walk
let's see you swim
now ski
spray
macho man!
sound your horn
ring the bell
ok
kiss
comb your hair
wave your hands, come on wave your hands
SUPERMAN!

come on, own up - who remembers!! [livejournal.com profile] sera_squeak i know you do!!

I remember dancing to it with you at my first Whitby!

I also remember my mum buying the 12" for me, but then not allowing me to play it because it turned out that the B-side contained the "X-rated" version of the song. (I can't find the lyrics to that version, but of course Black Lace weren't all "Agadoo" and "Do the Conga"... they did "Gang Bang" as well.)

Don't forget Those who are of a certain age but still have no clue due to being bloody foreigners :) I can, however, imagine it only too well....

Superman by Black Lace?! It's wicked!

I have also been known to do these actions to Walk by Pantera. Listen to it. It's just the same!

This brings back memories of village discos in a rickety hall, a 'bar' made out of a table, a slab of mcewans, 3l bottles of Grants whisky and vodka and hte worlds chepeast white wine round the back 'for the ladies'.

Memories of being forced to attend, of waiting for the one person who knew how to work the barbecue properly to be on before they got too pissed so you could have a burger without listeria.

Memories of being dragged off the exercise mats to dance to shite like this and having to watch the drunk parents embaress you, themselves and everybody else.

Memories I've spent years and thousands of pounds to kill with alcohol.
