I have decided that red pandas are awesome.

There was one on my desk this morning, courtesy of the web master - apparently the red panda is the firefox - I'm known in the office for making anyone people with a problem with my site download firefox, as it works perfectly in firefox, and only ever breaks in IE.

I'm not sure why the webmaster has left a red panda/firefox on my desk, but it is very cute. I have taken a photo of it, and in doing so remembered how many random photos I have on my phone.

So here's one of my random photo posts:

Odd sign spotted by a cash point near Boots in Dalston.I'm wondering if the person who has lost his big white jugs is the same person who lost this elephant, seen in the window of a launderette on Essex Road a few years ago.

These have to be the prettiest vegetables ever. Sold in Shaheen's CostCutters on Stokey high road.

Apparently abandoned because the wheels are 'brok'.

I think he looks rather bemused.

This mist was over Hackney Downs a few weeks ago - it was proper zombie mist, instead of appearing to recede the closer you got, it was actually solid, and we walked right up to the edge, right into it, through it and out the other side. Gutted I couldn't get a better picture, it was so strange. It was about 5 feet high , and there were little patches of it all over the downs.

Views like this make me glad to live in London.

Dude on the train had this record bag - I took a super sekrit stalker picture of it because I thought it was hilarious.

Spotted Grumpy Of Shoreditch here when I was cycling home the other week. He's just near Old Street roundabout, as you turn towards Hackney or Shoreditch, between the recycling bins.

Slash from Guns and Roses defaced this picture of Blondie which hangs in the basement studios at Virgin Radio.

I have a toy red panda too! He is (rather randomly) called Chiqui, after Francesco 'Chiqui' Arce of the Paraguay football team.

Also (I think it was Chris who pointed this out to me) how weird would fractal cabbage be if you saw it a few hundred years ago? Due to technology we're used to seeing very precise images and patterns, and it's still alien enough, but imagine if you never saw anything that regular?

I was freaked out enough seeing it now - I'm used to amazing computer generated images, but seeing nature do that is weird, somehow!

I love finding odd adverts and pictures. I photograph pretty much everything that takes me fancy, sometimes the pictures sit on my phone for months before I remember they're there!

I also liked [livejournal.com profile] s0b's idea of pinning notes to trees saying things like 'I never wanted to be a tree'. Urban guerilla art is awesome :)

I love lost objects with 'please take me' notes on them - I saw an oven in Camden once with a note that said 'please take me, I'm dirty, but I still work'. I didn't have a camera phone back then though.

Another occasion I wished I had a camera phone is when I met the Lizard Man, this dude who breeds and trains lizards for pets, he takes the baby ones out into London to get them used to people. I saw him on the jubilee line once with a lizard, just sat on his shoulder. He let me hold it! Hardly anyone believed me though. I decided if I ever had a camera phone I'd take pictures of everything that interested me.

Hmm, that reminds me I haven't done anything silly signwise in a while.

Watch a space, er, somewhere... ;)

I miss not having my camera on me, I really should get it repaired. I love taking random photos as I wander around, thanks for sharing :)

BTW, have you given much thought to your birthday this year? I was thinking of maybe doing something like Alex and Nils 65th party, but seeing as we'd invite pretty much the same people at pretty much the same time, I thought it might be worth considering a joint effort. What you reckon?

Not a bad idea! Are we the same age? It it our 60th?

I have NO idea what to do. Something fun. Involving cocktails. And maybe fancy dress.
