My mum is one of them. She works for a school in Hampshire and runs their hall - it's alright, but she used to work a lot of evenings.

(also, I fall in between most of the poll answers. I think that so long as you've got enough money to live on, it's all fine. But I could never take a job that would thrust me into absolute poverty just because it was something I fancied doing - I have too many plans for the future for that and none of the things I would like a go at would have much money attached to them whether just starting out or with a lot of experience.)

xx

Of course, this is on the basis of my current job, not the one that (references dependent) I hope to be moving to in about a month, where the pay is slightly better, and the job is different. It's only some aspects of my current job that I'm not keen on, and they're mostly environmental ... [grin]

If I may, I'd like to expand a little.

1. I'm happy with my job but not enormously talented at it. I often think they'd be better off with someone else. I'm paid *reasonably* well - 24k a year but still run out of money every month so I guess I could use more. Part of me thinks that I would run out of money at the end of each month even if I earned twice as much.

2/3. Money isn't a huge motivating factor as long as I can eat, drink, smoke and have somewhere reasonably nice to live. I'd far rather be happy than rich.

6. I don't know you that well outside of LJ but it strikes me with all the brownies, chicken shed etc stuff you'd enjoy doing something arts and community based. Perhaps an outreach officer for a theatre or arts organisation.

4/7. [livejournal.com profile] teenytiny_laura I almost burned with jealous rage until I read the barista bit!

That would pretty much be my ideal job, yeah :)

I really think that that would suit you! I have a few connections to the ROH - let me know if you fancy Covent Garden and I'll do some digging.

Also, I think you'd enjoy marketing or programme development for a small theatre. People in this sector are always swapping jobs so see if you can get hold of Attractions Management or Leisure Opportunities magazines.

None of your choices really worked. I'm happy with my job but I'm looking to move on, due to a poor salary. I don't particularly like my job though.

It amuses me that so many people said they were happy with their job but are sitting around reading LJ on a Thursday afternoon LOL

Who isn't happy with a job that lets you slack off reading LJ?

The sad thing is, I'd rather have a job that kept me too busy to read it!!

So would I. I work in short bursts of activity, and long periods of internet surfing.

None of the above for I am a speshul snowflake.

I don't like my job or hate it, I wish I had more money but I know I'm better off than some.... and some other stuff.

I can't fill out the poll as it is written.

I am happy with elements of my job. Whilst I am well paid and therefore not unhappy with my salary I think I deserve more. I have other jobs - DJ, Writer, Getaway driver, that i do out of love rather than for the money.

I would rather do a job I love and be paid millions

I would rather have a job that I adore - Novelist in the bestseller bracket please

Well, obv, we all would!!! It was an either or question that I'm pretty none of us would like to have to make!!!

Hee :)

Falling over is par or the course. Worry not, I'll show you how to fall properly. That's one thing I *can* do :)

Emmie, just remembered that I'm a member of LEEF (London Environmental Education Forum), and get all their job ads etc for organisations in the London area. If you have an email I could send them to you (there might be something cool you'd be interested in). It's not tons of spam, just a couple of pages a week.
Let me know if you're interested x

Doesn't mention job titles. It's the main thing I don't like about my job.
