Following a number of debates that my posts on street harassment, the objectification of women's bodies in the media and 'male priviledge' have prompted here on my journal, this article pretty much says everything, only much better than I could manage.

Where a man decides what is best for a woman and says "Don't bother, it's not worth it" it sends out a whole load of incredibly negative messages which I really don't think the police have the right to give out. They should be there doing their best and trying to get convictions for crimes whether the likelihood of a conviction is good or not.
