Been reading through the comments from the BBC website about the film. I'm AMAZED at the breadth of opinions, i can't recall a film adaption that has had so many divided opinions from both hardcore fans and people new to the text.

I think the best points made are concerning the fact that the Book, TV Show and Radio show were all very different from each other, not straight adaptions of each other, and were re-written for each medium; and the film should be viewed similarly - as a film version of HG2G, and not as an adaption of any of the previous versions.

Your ma taught me at SAHS for a good few years. I remember seeing you years ago now cuz I think you came in briefly to see her or something. I also recall that while I was in 6th form she and I spoke a few times and she kept going on at me to check out your band ;) The only reason I twigged is because I was looking about on the hairboard and came across your pics of the blonde prostyles that Emma did for you and the name underneath was Emmeline Bathurst... which is what my drama teachers name was... I can't remember what it was after she re-married though... did it begin with an S?

Like I said, total stab in the dark but it would seem I was right ;)

Mrs Shackley, that's the one!! Aww... she didn't like me much after teaching me between the ages of 11 and 15 (don't blame her, I irritated the fuck out of her i think :P) but once I made it to 6th form we kinda hit it off again. She was ace.

I left in 2002 so it will have been about 4 years ago. She'll remember me from any time between 1995 and then... if at all ;) I daresay the name Teayam will jog her memory a bit.
